Once in the room, Mary ran up to George and hugged him tightly. She must have been in great worry as soon as she had heard about George from the commissioner. She stared at Malee who quickly looked down on the floor and twisted her legs. She would get a scolding from Mary later, Malee thought.

“I am fine and ok. Just a bit too much excitement for one day.” said George, trying to squeeze out of Mary’s arms. “You are embarrassing me.” continued George to the laugher of those in the room. For the first time, everyone seemed relieved by the events. It had lifted the tension in the room since the commissioner, Malee and George had first arrived in the morning. Mary relaxed her arms and looked at George’s face.

“You should not have left the ceremony informing no one. Everyone was looking for you.” said Mary.

“I am sorry. It felt so stuffy with all the empty smiles and blind looks. I felt like trapped in the house again.” said George. “Didn’t Georgia said anything?” asked George.

“No. She was talking to to the guests beside the master.” said Mary. Of course, without George, it was her turn to shine. George paused for a while before continuing.

“Lets go home. You two come back later. I don’t want anyone to think we were together.” said George, looking at Malee and Michael. They nodded.

“I will file a report for a car breakdown at the outskirt of the city.” said the commissioner, to which George nodded with approval.
