Writers’ Journal #24 – Coffee or Tea

Spread the love

“Coffee or tea?” , asked John.

John tucked in his school shirt to look more presentable before leaving to order the drinks. He had been asking around whether to order coffee or tea and has not received any replies in turn. He was about to go and order just for himself when he felt someone had pulled the pant.

“Wait John. I want a Coffee” , said the girl who was pulling the side of his pant.

“Me too!” , said another.

And everyone said their orders one after another in no time. John promptly went to the counter and gave the orders. John noted most of them ordered coffee and only a few orders for tea. He looked around the tables and it seemed his suspicion was confirmed. Most of the customers were holding the green coffee cups in their hands.

As the order was sufficiently too large for him , the cashier ask for his seat number and told him to wait for the delivery. He went to the nearest restroom then walked back to the table with his friends. It wasn’t long before th waitress came to deliver the drinks and it took her a few rounds before all the drinks were delivered.

The evening passed by quickly before they realised it was time to go home. They rushed to finish up whatever left of the drinks and walked towards the train station. Most of them lived only a few stations away from the school , except for John , who lived several stations away.

Each of them waved goodbyes and boarded the trains. It was one of those days that one tend to miss as one getten older through the years. But for them , it was just an another day after school.

The End.
