Will was for sure having the best time of his life. A huge marble mansion , breath taking garden , olympic size pool full of bikini babes , what else could a man want? He couldn’t remember how he got to that place and he couldn’t care less anyway. The important thing was that he was there and that was it.
Then the alarm rang.
He slowly opened his eyes slowly , hoping that he was still in his dreams. But it was 8 am and he was half-naked in his bed. More importantly , it was Monday. He wanted to go back to bed but he wasn’t sure how to explain to John , his manager , when he reported to office late.
He got up , got dressed and wore the different coloured socks because he couldn’t find the matching pair. Breakfast would have to wait till he reached the office. There was a coffe shop near his office serving a nice breakfast set. He was nearly out of the door before he realised he couldn’t find the car keys.
He went back to his one-room rental apartment and furiously searched for the key. He found it quickly but not before having a fight with his cat sleeping on the sofa. He ran down the stairs , two steps at a time , because he missed the life and he couldn’t afford to miss the bus.
And it was what he missed when he reached the bus stop near his block. The bus to his office. He could still smell the gas so it couldn’t have escaped him long ago. He took an immediate decision to chase the bus through the alley across the road. He managed to squeeze through the narrow path bebore the bus stopped and with out of breath he board the bus.
Then he realised his pants pocket was empty. There was no wallet in it. In his haste to got out of the flat , he forgot to swap the wallet from the pant that he wore to part last night. He swore and he couldn’t believe his own luck on that day. It was as if gods of all heaven are preventing him from ever reaching the office on time.
Then he remembered , there was a credit card in his coat which he took out to pay for the drink at the bar last night. He could take a cab. He straightened his arms and waved furiously for nearest cab he could see. He hopped in and gave the address to the driver and asked him to slammed the accelerator.
He finally breathed a sigh of relieved as the bus disappeared from the back of the cab. His luck had bottomed out finally it seemed. Just as he took out his phone and started thinking about his breakfast , the car suddenly stopped , throwing his head to the back of the driver’s seat
When he regained his senses , he found his round of bad lucks had yet to end. There was a stretch of cars standing still as far as his eyes can see. As he would found out later , he was caught in a worst traffic jam in New York’s history.
The End.
