Writers’ Journal #20 – Past Mistakes

Spread the love

It is unfortunate that most people goes about their lives and work without ever thinking about the past mistakes. And they make noises and complains why things happen the way that they did not expect then. Then make a mess out of the situation and find someone else to blame to.

Those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it.’ – Winston Churchill

The above quote probably has bee repeated various time throughout the history yet the result is the same. People tend to repeat the same kind of mistakes over and over again which leads to another famous quote from another famous man ,

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein

And the end result is that of Natural Evolution. This is true not just for individuals on the street but also for mega corporations. Organizations that do not learn from the past mistakes do not know what is happening and no way to predict the future.

The trick to break the deadlock is , first of all , admit that there has been a mistake. This is the most difficult stage because nobody will do so voluntarily without adequate compensation. So most people would rather hide their flaws and show their fortes to everyone else. Try reading resumes , CVs and you will see good examples of the above.

Compared to the first step , the rest are snap. Once you admit that you have made a mistake , next is to find out the root cause of that and then once you found it , the solution to it will fall on your lap by itself.

So , remember , admit your mistakes!
