Writers’ Journal #42 – A Rock’s Tale

Spread the love

I am a rock. I live by my parent mountain side along with billions of my siblings. I am still young but I have lived for over 200 millions years. I was born when a lake of larva cooled. I was bigger but one day long ago ,  a giant animal crashed into me and there were thousands of me suddenly.

And I also noticed that over time , my skin color had changed from white to grey to black and then red. I have seen trees grew up then died many times. And for a long time , I could see as far the lake thousands of miles away from here.

Then in last 100 years or so , it all changed. Animals who were still swinging in the trees when the big animals crashed into me are now the dominant animals on mother earth. I see more and more of them and not too long ago , they started building objects containing the dead bodies of my siblings.

First they dug and carried away my siblings away and crushed them till they are fine powder. Then they built their objects with those powders. I am lucky that I have yet to be crushed. But I see the cries and sorrows of my siblings and so does our mother.

No other animals , live or dead , had ever taken dominion over mother earth like those animals have. But mother is not to be taken lightly. She holds more power than any things those two-legged animals could ever built. She has been listening to our cries and I hope she passes her judgement soon.

I am telling this to warn those animals to list to our mother. We are all children of her and she loves us all.

The End
