“But , I don’t understand a lot of things” , said I.

“What kind of things dear?” , asked Mrs Jamie.

“If you got lost , how did you get out? From where? And how did you manage to evade the rest to free me?” , I asked her several questions at once. Probably , I was too tired from the cold and also not able to think clearly as well. This was how she explained the whole episode.

Feeling hungry from all the exitement she had , Mrs Jamie came down again to the dining room to look for food. Not able to find any , she realised there was a rope at the corner of the room and pulled it several times to call for whoever might still be in the servant quarter. Then the familiar sound was heard again. That time loud and clear to her exactly what kind of sound it was. So she turned around and loked begind the wine cabinet where the sound came from. Shre enough , there was a visible gap where a person could fit in.

She breathed in and managed to squeeze her way through the gap into the room. Just like before with me , she felt her way but that time much further and also did a few turns around the corners. In no time , as she confessed later to me , she got lost and unable to find the way back to the dining room. She then went on randomly for a few more turns and then found a switch which opened to the fresh air outside the resort.

“What? It led directly to outside the resort?”

“Yes. There must have been tunnels and holes throughout and below the resort and this one went directly outside.” , replied Mrs Jamie.

Eventually , she made her way back to the resort via the kitchen and heard the group discussing about me being in the cold room. The rest was as what happened.

“But but I was lucky. What if I couldn’t find the exit on time?” , asked Mrs Jamie. The thought of her being wondering around in the dark underground maze till death must have seized her suddenly.

“What if those who disappeared also found out about that secret doors one way by accident but unlike you , they never got out?” , I continued the thought.

“Then where are they?” , asked both of us simultaneously.
