Let me take a short break here to do an outline of the story.
The story, in brief, is about Malee, a poor, uneducated girl, selling fried potato snacks in a broken pushcart around slums in modern Bangkok and how she rose to become the partner of the richest, most desirable man in Thailand. Along the way, she had to endure not only the wealth, and the class divide but also her family background.
Scene 1: A brief background of Malee and her selling fried potato from a pushcart around Bangkok.
Scene 2: Malee caused the accident in a big house, but saved by a boy on a bicycle.
Scene 3: they introduced Malee to the boy and the house.
Scene 4: The boy, George, offered Malee a job as part of the servants.
Scene 5: Malee found the loan sharks killed her father, and the boy accompanied her to the house but caught by the police.
Scene 6: The housekeeper took Malee under her care and taught her how to behave in the house. She and her husband, the gardener, and their son also part of the servants.
Scene 7: George’s sister and her friend from overseas came back to Thailand for school holidays. They bullied Malee.
Scene 8: George found out Malee was inquisitive and love drawing so he allowed to take part during private lessons.
Scene 9: Malee was getting used to the life in the household, but George left for UK to study. He left Malee in the hands of his tutor, paying for the fees from his pocket.
Scene 10: 10 years later George is back from UK. Transformed from a boy to man. All of Bangkok’s news and gossips revolved around him. Malee had also graduated from the university with distinctions and became the head of the household.
Scene 11: George became busy with his father’s businesses and political games. Had a breakdown, but recovered because of Malee’s care.
Scene 12: George sister’s friend from 10 years ago emerged as his fiance. George admitted his feelings for Malee, but also told her they would never be together as they were class apart.
Scene 13: To squash the rumours between Malle and George, his sister forced Malee into marriage with Mary’s son on the same day as George’s marriage to her friend.
Scene 14: Last minute, Malee broke down wearing the wedding dress. But there was a knock on the windows, and George was outside there on a bicycle. The End.
