They arrived at the central police station soon after and Malee immediately noticed the newly coated paints on the building as well as several other improvements to it. The ground had become larger with several large trees on the premise, giving it a more welcoming look than one would expect from a police station. They got out of the car and followed the policeman into the building via a side door. Clearly, the policeman was careful not to be seen bringing Malee into the station with him.
They got up to the higher floor with the help of a lift which was obviously used for bringing up heavy goods. Once there, they were brought into a room and told to wait.
“What are we going to do?” asked one of Malee’s friends. Getting into the police record wasn’t a good start to life after the university and worse if they would be arrested for rioting in public, which carried a heavy sentence.
“Don’t worry.” said Malee. She wasn’t worry about that, a phone call would easily get them out of the place but what about George? She would need a cover for a man in a cap beside her. His records would not be in any places and it would arouse suspicion immediately. She thought of calling Georgia for help but decided against it. Mary. Yes, she was still at the ceremony and was a well-known face at the house by the guests including the commissioner.
Then the door opened, and another man in an office attire who was apparently his supervisor accompanied the policeman.
“You said you work for..” said the man in the attire to Malee.
“Yes. If I could make a call, I can prove it.” said Malee. The man nodded and Malee took out her phone from the bag and called Mary.
