Malee smiled at the thought of Mary having lost her memory for a pepper bottle and picked up the plastic bag to her room above. She couldn’t wait to try out the dress that she had stared at the windows. She quickly climbed the stairs to the room and closed the door in a hurry as she changed into the newly bought dress and looked at herself in the mirror in satisfaction.
“New dress?” said the voice from behind her. Malee turned around in shock and found Mary at the door. Probably the lunch had been over and the servants were coming back to their own rooms.
“Yes.” smiled Malee.
“The card from Michael?” asked Mary, knowing very well how it was used to pay. Malee nodded as she turned herself around again. Mary smiled and left the room before asking Malee to join the rest in the kitchen below for a quick meal. Malee looked at herself in the mirror again with the wide smile on her face before quickly changing back to the usual uniform and rushed towards downstairs as instructed. The rest of the servants were already in the kitchen, along with Michael when Malee pushed the kitchen door open.
“Finally. Congrats on your graduation, Malee!” shouted everyone with a large cake in the middle of the table. Mary came over and gave her a hug, followed by the rest of the servants.
“Thanks everyone!” Malee smiled and hugged everyone as everyone clapped.
