Then we each took a glass of sherry from the wine cabinet and made our way to the lobby for discuss on the tomorrow. Due to the design of the building , it was not a short walk between the kitchen and the lobby. In fact , I noticed the kitchen is nearer to the bedrooms than the main lobby is. In fact , it is directly beneath the bedrooms.

I wondered to myself if there was a secret door that allow someone to go up and down from the bedrooms above to the kitchen without go to the main lobby. I took a sip of the sherry and abandoned further speculation. We would be freed in 2 more days , so why took the trouble to myself? Or so I thought.

General Lee and I were walking behind the first group , led by Mrs Jamie , when we marched into the lobby. Suddenly , The first group stopped and I nearly bumped into Mrs Jamie and spilled the sherry on her dress. It was chaos for a few minutes before we all saw what made the first group stopped in their track. And what we saw left us stunned with our mouths opened wide.

There was a bouquet of flowers in the middle of the lobby with a card attached to the side. It was definitely wasn’t there when we left into the tunnel. We looked at each other in pure amazement as all the remaining guests were accounted for the whole time. General Lee was the first among us to regained composure and walked towards the middle of the lobby and picked up the card. He stared it for a while before looking back at us.

He extended his hand holding the card to us without saying a word and we took it as a meaning to read the card for ourselves. We surrounded him and Mrs Jamie read it aloud for all of us.

“No one will leave the resort alive,” said Mrs Jamie , her voice shaking in the realization of the meaning of the words she was reading. The meaning was plain enough for all of us. Whoever started this whole charade planned to complete the mission of killing all of us to the end. Now that he knew what we had discovered , he would no longer hide in the dark.

We were being hunted.

After exploring the tunnel , we had a quick meal , prepared by tireless Mrs Jamie and her fellow ladies in the kitchen itself.
